Banana Bread Smoothie

Remember the Yoplait Light marketing campaign? Beautiful women reaching for banana cream pie or red velvet yogurts instead of real cakes…looking so happy and satiated as they took down 90 calories worth of chemically altered ingredients and artificial sweeteners.

I was a sheep. I salivated. Then I went and bought some. And it was good, although it didn’t quite fill the baked good void. Full disclosure, this will likely not replace the satisfaction of eating a warm, gooey slice of banana bread. But it is very sweet, very filling, and very clean. A handful of ingredients, all vegan, make up this “Banana Bread Smoothie”. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

2 dates (pitted)

10 almonds

1/2 cup of almond milk

1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 frozen banana (freeze when banana is overripe for the sweetest smoothie!)

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Feel free to add a few ice cubes for some extra crunch/cold. Enjoy!
